We instrumental musicians often struggle to name our pieces. While compiling the tracks from the last year of saved recordings and pondering what to name them, a friend told me she was going to the beach for a few days. The next morning the idea popped to use a beach and sea theme for naming the songs.

What we have here is a day at the beach, starting with the early morning sunrise and ending with fireworks, the cicadas roaring as night falls, and giving thanks for the day before sleeping soundly.

Thanks to artist & designer Natalia Tcherniak of blueprintjam.com in Toronto, Ontario, CA for patiently and skillfully transforming these thoughts into a striking cover and CD package.

A very special dedication to Erik McFarlane, my little brother of a different mother . . . studio buddy, co-worker, and special friend, Erik was a passionate student and teacher of history, gardener extraordinaire, jazz historian and talented singer, lover of his four-legged fur babies, card shark at the poker table, and a VFL for certain!

He was always willing to learn and help others, and his smile could light up the room! Erik left us much too early and I'm sure he is auditioning for a spot for all eternity in the Heavenly Band!
